Contributor Agreement

Section 1

Contributor information

Contributors provide the following so PalliativeCare360 can verify authorship and maintain an accurate editorial record:

• Full legal name
• Professional name, if different
• Credentials
• Professional title
• Organization or affiliation
• Email address
• Phone number
• Mailing address (optional)
• Contributor profile name

Section 2

Original work representation

The contributor confirms that:

• The submitted article is their original work, or they hold the legal right to submit it.
• The article does not knowingly violate copyright, trademark, privacy, confidentiality, or other third-party rights.
• Any third-party images, charts, tables, quotations, or other materials carry appropriate permission or licensing where required.
• Sources and references are accurately cited.

Section 3

Accuracy and professional responsibility

The contributor acknowledges that:

• They are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit.
• Clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, legal, policy, and research claims should be evidence-informed and appropriately sourced.
• PalliativeCare360 may request supporting references before publication.
• Editorial acceptance does not constitute independent verification of every statement made by the author.

Section 4

Patient privacy and confidentiality

The contributor confirms that the submission:

• Does not contain protected health information unless legally authorized and specifically approved by PalliativeCare360.
• Does not include identifiable patient information without proper written authorization.
• Does not disclose confidential organizational, employer, client, or proprietary information without permission.

Patient cases should be de-identified whenever possible. When in doubt, remove identifying detail before submission.

Section 5

Conflict of interest disclosure

Contributors disclose any relationship that could reasonably influence the content, including:

• Financial relationships
• Employment relationships
• Consulting or advisory relationships
• Sponsorships
• Ownership interests
• Vendor relationships
• Paid product relationships
• Any other conflicts

Contributors select either “No conflicts to disclose” or “I have conflicts or relationships to disclose,” with details provided in writing.

Section 6

Editorial rights

The contributor acknowledges that PalliativeCare360 may:

• Accept or decline submissions
• Request revisions
• Edit for grammar, clarity, length, formatting, style, and publication standards
• Modify headlines and subheadings
• Add formatting, links, editorial notes, disclosures, and references
• Delay publication
• Unpublish or remove content when necessary
• Decline future submissions

Material changes to the author's meaning require author review before publication whenever reasonably practical.

Section 7

Copyright and publishing license

The contributor retains ownership of their original work and grants PalliativeCare360 a perpetual, worldwide, nonexclusive, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, display, archive, format, distribute, promote, market, quote excerpts from, and create reasonable promotional adaptations of the accepted article across PalliativeCare360-owned or controlled channels, including:

• PalliativeCare360.com
• Email newsletters
• Substack
• LinkedIn
• Social media
• Promotional materials
• Presentations
• Editorial compilations
• Digital archives

This agreement does not transfer ownership of the contributor's underlying copyright unless a separate written agreement specifically states otherwise.

Section 8

Author name, credentials, biography, and image authorization

The contributor authorizes PalliativeCare360 to display and promote:

• Contributor name
• Professional credentials
• Professional title
• Biography
• Organization or affiliation
• Contributor headshot
• Contributor profile
• Published article titles and excerpts

Contributors may correct inaccurate professional information at any time through their profile or by contacting the editorial team.

Section 9

Media authorization (optional)

A separate, optional authorization covers contributors who participate in:

• Video interviews
• Podcasts
• Webinars
• Recorded events
• Photographs
• Audio recordings
• Promotional clips

This optional authorization is not required to submit a written article, except where the contributor's image is necessary for their author profile.

Section 10

Promotional use

PalliativeCare360 may promote published work through:

• Website features
• Email newsletters
• Social media
• LinkedIn
• Substack
• Event promotions
• Contributor spotlights
• Editorial campaigns

Promotional excerpts will not materially misrepresent the contributor's views.

Section 11

Contributor status

• Contributors are independent contributors.
• Publication does not create an employer-employee relationship.
• Publication does not create a partnership, agency, joint venture, or contractor relationship unless separately agreed in writing.
• Contributors are not automatically entitled to compensation unless compensation is separately agreed in writing.

Section 12

Editorial independence disclaimer

Opinions expressed by contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views, policies, or positions of PalliativeCare360 or its affiliated organizations.

Section 13

No medical, legal, or financial advice

PalliativeCare360 content is provided for professional education and informational purposes. It should not be interpreted as individualized medical, legal, financial, reimbursement, or regulatory advice.

Section 14

Contributor badges and recognition

• Badges and contributor designations are awarded at the discretion of the PalliativeCare360 editorial team.
• Recognition may include Founding Contributor, Featured Contributor, Executive Contributor, Clinical Expert, Research Contributor, Distinguished Contributor, or annual recognition.
• Contributors may not assign their own badges.
• PalliativeCare360 may modify or remove recognition when appropriate.

Section 15

Agreement termination

Contributors may request removal of their active contributor profile at any time. Previously published articles may remain in the PalliativeCare360 archive under the publishing license granted above, unless removal is required by law or approved by the editorial team.

Section 16

Electronic signature

Acceptance is recorded electronically and includes the contributor's full legal name, typed signature, date, agreement version, and — where supported — the IP address and device used to sign.

“I have read and agree to the PalliativeCare360 Contributor Agreement and Editorial Standards.”

Contributors cannot submit an article for editorial review until this agreement has been accepted.
